Tips

• Use glass cleaner on your hands when installing silicone, this will prevent silicone from sticking to your hands.
• Remove existing silicon, with the scraper tool. Clean the area with methylated spirits, bleach or your preferred cleaner. The idea is to kill any mould or similar under the silicon before applying. Allow this to dry before any application.
• Spray onto the silicon line with just water from a spray bottle - a light spray is all that is need. This stops the silicon sticking and makes it more pliable when finishing it. (do not use soapy water this might cause fraying on the edges and prevent seal - as the water dries out it leaves just the soap residue.
• Lay the silicon bead along the line with a gun.
